Ys Swivel Chair by Christophe Pillet for Cappellini, 1997

Postmodern Cappellini swivel chair “Y’s” designed by Christophe Pillet (Paris) for the Italian company Cappellini in 1997. For Christophe Pillet, design should offer people a different way of life. He studied in Milan in the 1980s at the Domus academy, joined the Memphis group and gained international fame with his designs. In 1993, he won the award for Designer of the Year. Christophe’s products have a kind of harmony and unity but still stand out thanks to their originality. This chair has a seat of moulded integral foam covered with fabric on a swivel cast metal base, painted natural aluminium colour. Dimensions are 83 x 57 x 70 cm. Seat height is 44 cm.
