Mario Bellini for Cassina, set of four ‘cab’ dining chairs model 412, black leather, Italy, 1976 Set of four chairs designed by Mario Bellini for Cassina in 1976.

Conceptually, the ‘Cab’ chair was designed to become marked and shaped over time by its user. The leather skin fits like a glove over the steel skeleton and fastens with four zippers. The whole design focuses on the way the side joins the back to support the weight of an arm. In order to make the base of the armrest comfortable and strong, the leather is appropriately shaped and formed in a double layer.
